On Saturday 1st March, Preston Indoor Market held its very first Vintage & Artisan Fair. Over 25 traders occupied the empty stalls and other void and communal areas to create an event that pulled in the crowds. Traders were selling vintage clothing, homeware and jewellery together with a host of craft stalls.
The event really caught the imagination of the public with footfall increasing by 26% compared to the previous Saturday.
Market Manager David Bullock was delighted with the success of the event. I was inundated within an hour of opening with requests for the date of the next event. We are hopeful this week of announcing the date of the second event, hopefully around Easter. What however was really encouraging was the impact on our regular traders who reported a great atmosphere and lots of new customers. One of our Outdoor traders said it was her best ever Saturday.
