NABMA and NMTF agree Markets Manifesto in advance of 2017 GENERAL ELECTION

With the 2017 General Election around the corner NABMA & NMTF agree Markets Manifesto.

The 2017 Markets Manifesto seeks assurances that markets will continue to have a voice in policy making, building on the existing work that we undertake through the Department for Communities and Local Government’s Retail Market Forum and the All Party Parliamentary Markets Group.

We have retained two of the issues from 2015, namely the removal of the business rates burden and a review of street trading legislation, but we have included issues that emphasise the challenge of supporting the next generation – in particular, how markets provide opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

The Markets Manifesto highlights some of the projects that NABMA and the NMTF are currently promoting, including Love Your Local Market, Pitch up for Retail, and the National Youth Market, and highlights the the roles we play in supporting apprenticeships, self-employment, and training hubs.

You can read more about the Markets Manifesto on the Mission 4 Markets website

We welcome news stories, job vacancies and tender opportunities from our members for publication. If your market has some news to share, please email support@nabma.com
