Marketti‘s Go Digital Challenge

Marketti‘s Go Digital Challenge

Last month Marketti launched an app and online platform that has ambitions to revolutionise the way markets connect with communities and visitors to help them shop and experience markets.

The venture is the brainchild of Ellie Gill, who ran NABMA’s Love Your Local Market campaign from 2013 until last year.  She explains that the platform is the result of years of feedback from traders and market managers who recognise the industry needs to stay competitive in a modern retail environment in order to thrive.

The app includes a facility for e-commerce and Click and Collect in markets, Loyalty and Rewards options and provides traders with tools for business and the facility to take contactless and card payments.

The platform will be free to list a market or market business.  Market operators will be the first part of this process and from this month, will be invited to list their markets and verify licence holders.  It will then be the turn of market traders to list their businesses so local communities and visitors can access information on what is available at any market.

Later in the year, a range of tools to help market traders get the most from their business will start to come online and a free to list e-commerce site will be offered to anyone wishing to boost earnings.  NABMA sponsors, Marketti are also working with a range of operators to utilise the app to provide click and collect services to compete with convenience shopping hours when people are on their way home from work.
