The shoppers of Chesterfield were invited to vote for their Favourite Market Traders in a competition which was run by Chesterfield Borough Council in the Chesterfield Market Retailer Guide. This proved very popular with lots of entries and it was an extremely close fought competition.
W Ayres were delighted to win the title of ‘Favourite Market Stall’ for the outdoor market and Charles Ferne of W Ayres was presented with a certificate and prize by the Mayor of Chesterfield Cllr Don Parsons at a presentation on Chesterfield Market.
United Sweets of America, a new sweet shop selling American only produce, opened in Castleford market on Saturday (December 1) – thanks to Wakefield Council’s business start-up scheme.
Tony Hirst, 35, had been trading in Pontefract outdoor market for just over three months when he learned about the business start-up scheme and decided to use it to expand his business.
