Institute of Place Management
NABMA is delighted to have entered into a partnership with the Institute of Place Management to provide a professional status to the role of Market Officer.
The Institute of Place Management is a membership organisation dedicated to supporting professionals and organisations that are committed to managing, developing and making places better. Any Market Officer can become a Member of the Institute and this can be done at either Associate or full Member status.
Currently NABMA is providing free membership to the Institute and if you want to become an Associate Member then simply send an email to (Enable Javascript to see the email address)
If you want to become a full Member then send an email including details of your post, your employing Authority and the highest qualification that you currently hold. This will enable the Institute, in consultation with NABMA, to assess whether your current situation merits full Membership of the Institute.
NABMA is committed to providing, via the Institute, a professional qualification for Market Officers through a Diploma of Markets Management. However, we need to attract at least fifty Market Officers into the Institute before we can launch a Diploma qualification. Hopefully we can reach the required number during 2011 and then make an announcement on the Diploma during the year.
NABMA training courses will be accredited by the Institute and Members can obtain CIPD points that can be used to meet professional qualification requirements. You should please enquire when, applying for a training course, the appropriate CIPD accreditation given for that particular course.
