City Hall, London was the prestigious setting for the London Markets Symposium “Markets and the Recession; Kick-Starting the Stall” Welcomed by Jan Lloyd of Covent Garden and Rosie Boycott (Mayor’s Food Advisor). There were presentations from Ed Garner on Changing Consumer Trends, Jon Hammond on Supplying Markets and Melanie Odell who gave a lyrical presentation on Markets and The High Street. The Symposium attracted a wide audience of market interests and the opportunity to network provided a great opportunity to catch up on topical issues. A lively panel session chaired by Jan Lloyd with Krys Zasada, Nabma, Sally Scantlebury, FEAST, and Peter Turvey, London Street Trading Benchmarking Group covered many issues including better engagement with members, training for market officers, communication, the work of the CLG Working Group and the future of the London Markets Association.
