Coventry – Britain’s Favourite Market

Its official – Coventry has been voted as Britain’s Favourite Market in the 2010 Market of the Year Competition.
Voting has been on line for the past 2 months through the NABMA website. Thousands of votes were cast as local communities pushed their market towards this top accolade.
Pictured collecting the accolade from Government Markets Champion, Rt Hon Rosie Winterton M.P is John Vickers of Coventry City Council.
Earlier in the presentations the Minister stressed how government wish to see markets stay at the heart of community life as meeting places, a focal point reflecting the diversity of modern Britain and fostering local pride to create a real sense of place.
