As the voice of local authority and private markets, NABMA was at the forefront of local and national media interest yesterday. Leicester was the setting for the NABMA Management Board that reflected on a highly successful year for the Association with increasing membership, new sponsors and many new partners. NABMA was also involved in the Select Committee visit for Traditional Markets taking part in the Oral Evidence Session and informally discussing local situations with Committee members during lunch. Pictured are members of the Select Committee with Leicester Markets Manager Nick Rhodes. Add to this full agenda the presentation to Leicester Market of the Nations Favourite Market title from the recent NABMA Market of the Year and it was clear to witness the importance and influence that NABMA has in national market matters. NABMA President, Cllr Stuart Bray admitted that it had been a full and exciting day. "NABMA is pleased at the growing influence and respect that we are achieving in promoting the importance and relevance of markets across the UK. We welcome the Select Committee appointment and we await their conclusions with great interest."
