Smithfield Market was the scene of the early morning visit by delegates to the NABMA/WUWM Conference. Smithfield Market is one of the Corporation of London’s great food markets and delegates were taken on a tour by Robert Wilson, Markets Superintendent, and other colleagues. Robert spoke about the background to the development of Smithfield and also the range of work currently undertaken on site. Delegates were impressed by the range of activities and the work undertaken by the Corporation of London to modernise the markets facilities. Following the guided tour delegates enjoyed a full English breakfast at a local restaurant before returning to the Barbican Centre for the Conference.
