Falmouth to have artists' street market

Artists in and around Falmouth will soon be able to promote their work to a wide audience as a regular artist’s market will be on in Event’s Square.
Organisers Lea Parry and Jo James put the idea to Falmouth Festivals Ltd after being inspired by the artists street markets in Paris, Madrid and London. Falmouth Festivals were very pleased to be involved with the project.
Mike Rangecroft, director of Falmouth Festivals said: “We are delighted to welcome this exciting new initiative to Events Square. It is exactly the sort of project the Square was designed for and will enhance all the other events that are planned for this year.”
Lea Parry added that these markets have proved to be huge tourist attractions elsewhere and will be a great asset to the town.
“Cornwall is a huge centre for artists and a regular market like this is a simple but effective way of promoting their work to a wide audience.
“We believe that these markets are great outlets for local artists as well as attracting visitors from all over the world.”
