NALC AND NABMA TRADING TOGETHER
Wednesday 29 April 2009
Lichfield was the venue for the Markets and Local Councils Seminar yesterday, promoted by NABMA. Pictured are Councillor Michael Chater, Chairman of The National Association of Local Councils signing an Agreement of Protocol with NABMA Past President, Councillor John Gareth Jones.
The Protocol demonstrates the shared agenda of both national organisations in looking to the promotion of the value of local councils and their ability to deliver quality cost effective local services that can include markets.
NALC Chair, Councillor Michael Chater welcomed the shared agenda. “Many NALC members are showing interest in the operation of markets as part of visionary town centre initiatives. The link with NABMA offers a real partnership of shared interests and the access to professional support and guidance to our members.”
NABMA Chief Executive, Graham Wilson, confirmed his pleasure at the Protocol.
“It is encouraging to cement the relationship we have enjoyed in recent months with NALC. NABMA has much to offer the smaller local authorities and we are encouraged by the growing NABMA membership and the input that parish and town councils are now having into shaping our NABMA agenda for the future.”
