Over the last twelve months market officers at Leicester have been undertaking a pilot NVQ training course on a range of issues affecting basic market management and customer practice. These market officers have recently successfully completed their training and work is now being undertaken to consider the next stage of the development of national NVQ qualifications. South Leicester College have a funding stream available that will allow them to repeat the training offered to the market officers at Leicester to other NABMA members in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire and a letter have been sent to all our members in these areas asking if they are interested in taking up this training opportunity. Hopefully we will be able to extend this initiative more widely following the completion of the work in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
