Key roles for market leaders
Manchester’s markets are a well-established tradition, at the heart of the city’s community life. We’re looking for two authoritative management professionals to shape their future development.

Head of Manchester Markets
Salary: £45,024-£48,090
Ref: SRS/HOMM

An influential communicator with strong leadership and motivational skills to lead the provision of high-quality, innovative market services across the city, developing new facilities, maximising income and profitability and contributing to the city’s regeneration programme. Skilled in strategic planning and project management within a commercial environment, the post holder will manage the market estate, its personnel and financial operations; and take responsibility for marketing, IT development, health and safety and legislative issues. The postholder will also have knowledge of relevant legislation regarding markets and the public service budgetary control process.

Applicants will hold a relevant management qualification (e.g. DMS, Btec, MBA) at HND, degree level or equivalent and/or a qualification in Business Studies or a related discipline. They will have a minimum three years senior management experience within a multi-site retail or service organisation; a track record of controlling a multi-million pound budget and of working in a regeneration environment.

Wholesale Market Manager

The successful candidate will be a results-oriented team player with experience of non-office based work, of working with commercial businesses.
