NABMA was delighted to welcome Antony Worrall Thompson yesterday to its Streets Alive Seminar at Birmingham.

A capacity audience at the Council House enjoyed an entertaining address from the TV celebrity chef as he participated in the Market of the Year Awards. Antony praised the competition for raising the importance of markets and expressed his delight at the innovation and quality evident in the various categories. He also made reference to the value of markets as stages for the supply of fresh produce mentioning his own involvement in organic supplies.

NABMA President Councillor Gareth Jones, pictured welcoming AWT, formally thanked Antony for his support and endorsement of both markets and specifically the Market of the Year competition. “It was a pleasure to welcome Antony. He has been a tremendous friend to NABMA in recent months and his willingness to be the face and voice of Market of the Year has generated much media interest that has to benefit markets and sell the message of what they offer to our communities and wider agencies.”
