The Chinese New Year was brought in with cheers in Nuneaton Market on Saturday 9^th February, as the crowds watched in awe at an award winning dance group. The special performance of Lion and dragon dancing from the Choy Lee Fut Academy brought the crowds in Nuneaton’s Saturday Market to a standstill.

Councillor Bill Sheppard and his wife, Mayor and Mayoress of Nuneaton and Bedworth were at hand to welcome the 2007 Lion Dance Champions to the town and market and they entertained the shoppers with three breathtaking performances throughout the day.

The event was supported by the Wing Wah Chinese Restaurant who had a market stall and were giving samples of traditional Chinese food for the celebration.
