WUWM Retail Conference

The Retail Section of the World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) will hold a European Retail Conference in Hamburg, Germany from 12-13 June 2008. Under the theme "European Retail Markets Driving Communities" the conference will discuss various methods of strengthening and developing retail (covered, street and open-air) markets throughout Europe.

The conference is aimed at retail market authorities and decision-makers, retail market traders (and their associations), local authority representatives, town centre managers, town planners, government agencies working for retail/commerce/food retail businesses, and any professionals interested in the social and/or economic benefits of markets. The conference will discuss current EC legislation and lobbying activities, effective community involvement in market (re)development, efficiency in market promotions, and technical innovations in market equipment and practices. Four technical visits will also be offered during the conference.
