Policy Framework Launch – Success

Monday 02 July 2007

NABMA is delighted at the feedback from the recent launch of the Policy Framework document at the Westminster reception for the All Party Markets Parliamentary Group.

A large number of Members of Parliament attended the event and evidence suggests that many have kept their commitment to visit their local market and show both support for the market and also the agenda that NABMA and colleagues are pressing in terms of the Policy Framework for markets that focuses on key issues to now be supplemented with evidence of good practice.

Pictured at the launch with Yvette Cooper, Minister of State and Ann Coffey, Secretary of the Parliamentary Group are NABMA, FARMA and NMTF members who form the Markets Industry Forum.

NABMA Chief Executive, Graham Wilson praised the work to date, particularly the drafting of the document by Krys Zasada, Manchester and Malcolm Veigas, Bradford. “The interest and profile raising opportunity in markets through the launch at Westminster and Markets Week has been most encouraging. The challenge to the sector is now to take the agenda forward and embrace the goodwill and genuine support for markets as shown by so many Members of Parliament. This is a challenge that now forms one of the NABMA priorities in the months ahead and will be a focus at our Blackpool conference in September”
