BREAKING NEWS - NABMA TRAINING 2007 - REGISTER NOW
Tuesday 16 January 2007
Details are now being finalised of the NABMA training programme for the January to May period of 2007. More events will be added in the coming weeks.
RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL
In responding to demand the very first NABMA residential course is to be held at The Belmont Hotel, Leicester on the 14th and 15th May, 2007. There will be a maximum of 20 places available on this course which will start at 10.00 a.m. on Monday, 14th May and continue until 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 15th May. A varied programme has been put together, including sessions on regenerating your market, planning events that can enhance the status of your market and general promotional ideas. Included in the course will be a visit to Leicester Market to see one of the biggest markets in the country at first hand. There will also be an opportunity for delegates to consider the importance of working in partnership with various other relevant organisations and the course will include a session on trading standards. There will be plenty of opportunity for networking and on the Monday there will be a question and answer session involving Officers from NABMA. This is an excellent course and the cost for each delegate, including all paperwork, course material, accommodation and meals is £295.00 plus VAT. If you have somebody who is interested in attending this course, can you please register such interest as soon as possible?
HEALTH AND SAFETY
A training course on health and safety matters will be held at Derby on the 5th March 2007. This course will be a practical course covering all aspects of health and safety relating to markets and will be supported by Officers from Derby City Council. The course will start at 10.00 a.m. and lunch will be provided. There are 20 places available on the course and the cost for each delegate, including all course material and lunch is £75.00 plus VAT. This will be a very practical based course and should be of great interest to Market Officers. Applications should be made as soon as possible.
MERCHANDISING IN MARKETS
One of NABMA’s sponsors, Radford Shelving, has agreed to provide a workshop on Merchandising in Markets. This promises to be a very informative and helpful seminar for all Market Managers, particularly in terms of securing the best presentation of Merchandising in Markets. The course will be led by Tracey Lambert of Radfords and she is utilising the facilities at Derby Market to demonstrate how merchandising can make a significant improvement to the product offer in markets. Because the seminar is being provided as part of NABMA’s sponsorship arrangement with Radfords, only a nominal fee is being charged to cover the cost of administration and refreshments. The course will take place on the 26th February at Derby commencing at 10.00 a.m. and following the Workshop, delegates will then transfer to the Cattle Market for further discussions and lunch. The cost is £30.00 for each delegate plus VAT.
There are a maximum of 20 places available on this course.
The NABMA training agenda is being structured to provide help and assistance to all levels of market management. Make sure you reserve your requirements early to avoid disappointment as many 2006 events were oversubscribed.
