NABMA has received a request for assistance from Colin Hill at Burnley based around performance levels at U.K markets in the first few weeks of 2007.

Colin indicates that Burnley are experiencing the sharpest decline in trader fall off and general retail spend for many years in the first 6 weeks of this year and are therefore considering further trader support packages.

Colin suggests that “It would be really helpful to get a quick approximate flavour from around the country of a) % drop off or increase in traders b) Any decline in footfall - % c) Best guess % decline if any of customer spend d) Best guess % decline in immediate retail area near your market.”
