Market of the Year 2008 – Deadline approaching?
Friday 07 December 2007
Remember the clock is running down for entries for Market of the Year 2008. Entries close on 21 December so make sure your application is submitted as soon as possible.
The 2007 competition enjoyed a record number of entries from around the UK of large, small and specialty markets. Remember the 3 different categories and consider what publicity the NABMA Market of the Year title could give your market and your town or city.
Click on the NABMA home page at www.nabma.com and download your details of NABMA Market of the Year 2008 that is endorsed by celebrity chef Antony Worrall Thompson and sponsored by KPR Midlink Ltd.
Antony Worrall Thompson has offered a glowing endorsement for markets and NABMA sincerely hopes that as many market operators as possible will take the opportunity to use the easy application process and nominate their markets. Antony Worrall Thompson confirms
“I believe that markets are a vitally important component within the food chain. They provide fresh produce, an outlet for locally sourced food and I am proud to have been a long standing supporter and regular user. I would urge everyone, both producer and consumer, to support their local market and I look forward to working with NABMA and being involved in Market of the Year 2008. Markets are important community assets and I am excited at helping raise their profile and stressing the importance of markets across the U.K”
Entry is simple and NABMA requires all winners to arrange a local publicity event at their market by 31 March 2008.
Good luck and remember to book now your delegate places for the Streets Alive One Day Seminar at the Council House, Birmingham on 31 January when the presentation for Market of the Year 2008 will take place.
Make sure your markets start 2008 with the highest profile possible.
