NABMA Tribute to Markets Champion
Wednesday 22 November 2006
At the recent APPG for Markets meeting in the House of Lords, NABMA President Elect, Councillor John Gareth Jones made a presentation to Lord Ted Graham of Edmonton in recognition of Lord Ted becoming the first recipient of the “NABMA Outstanding Achievement to the Markets Industry” award.
Councillor Jones expressed disappointment that, due to illness, Lord Ted had been unable to attend the NABMA Glasgow conference when the award was announced but suggested that the presentation at Westminster was perhaps more appropriate as it was from here that Lord Ted had made so much happen for markets through his support, encouragement and guidance – particularly with the All Party Parliamentary Group. In his role as Secretary to the Group he had taken markets to policy makers and government and had been a loyal and staunch supporter and friend to NABMA and the Market Industry Forum.
The NABMA President Elect confirmed to Lord Ted “that the NABMA membership sends their best wishes to you as both a friend and colleague and sincerely thank you for what you have done for markets over many years – you have been a true champion of the sector. You are the first recipient of this award and NABMA could think of no person more fitting. We wish you well for the future.”
