NABMA AND ATCM
Tuesday 21 November 2006
Following the signing of the Protocol at this year’s Conference committing NABMA and ATCM to a closer working relationship, we are already beginning to see the first tangible signs of progress.
NABMA is to participate IN the developing of the Institute of Place Management which is new professional institute that will be relevant to many of the managers of our markets.
In early 2007 a detailed survey will be undertaken with market officers, based on a model used by the ATCM, to give NABMA a much better indication of the office structure within markets. Watch out for details.
Planning is taking place to host a joint ATCM/NABMA event within the next year with a focus on larger town/parish councils.
NABMA is hoping to host an event at next year’s ATCM Summer School in Glasgow.
ATCM has offered to share their “cuttings” service to enable NABMA to obtain further information about the general retail picture and markets in particular.
NABMA has offered training to ATCM to give ATCM members more knowledge about the running of markets.
Both NABMA and ATCM will continue to work together to deal with the problems of pedlars and unlawful street traders.
