On behalf of the Bury Markets Management Team, John Ayres attended the prestigious Coach Tourism Awards and the Team were chosen as runners up in the Manager of the Year Award 2006 category. The event which was held at Coventry City’s New Ricoh Arena on the 17 May 2006, was attended by hundreds of important national companies in the group travel and tourist attraction industry. Of the scores of entrants two Managers went head to head. The award was given to David Smith an independent travel operator from Newton-le-Willows. John Ayres, Bury Markets Business and Services Manager said “To be recognised as one of the best managers nationwide is a sublime accolade, and full credit has to go to the whole of the Bury Markets Management Team”, he added “I know that there are no prizes for coming second, but it makes me feel so proud to lead a very fine Management Team that has received national recognition already”
