The second report on retail markets under the title “Future Prospects” was presented to the All Party Parliamentary Group last night. The Report, which has been the work of Manchester Business School, supported by Nick Rhodes of Leicester, highlights some of the challenges facing market operators and puts forward proposals for how the future might be tackled. The All Party Parliamentary Group welcomed the report and emphasised the need for local authorities to support their markets. Particular mention was made of PPS6 which is government recognition of the value of markets to the overall vitality of the town centre. All Nabma members will be receiving a copy of the report in the next few days.
