Bury Market of the Year
Friday 24 March 2006
In glorious sunshine and with a crowded market as a background Bury celebrated the award of the Nabma/KPR Market of the Year with a special presentation at the market which was supported by traders, market staff , members and officers of the Council. The Mayor of Bury received the award from the Councillor Angela Newton, President of Nabma, who paid tribute to the quality of Bury’s entry and also thanked KPRMidlink for their sponsorship of the event.Bury’s enthusiasm for its market and the support received from traders and the whole Council indicates what can be achieved when markets are seen as a high priority.
Plans are already been made for the launch of Market of the Year 2007.Make sure that your authority enters. Having seen what the award means to Bury we hope that more of our members will tell us about their markets next year. If you have good news to tell do not keep it to yourself.
