The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea – Enforcement Officer
Thursday 22 June 2006
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea are currently looking for an Enforcement Officer. Please find details below:
Enforcement Officer
(Markets and Waste Management)
Street Trading/Highways Enforcement/Cleansing Enforcement From £25,300
Kensington and Chelsea covers one of the most economically and culturally diverse areas of the capital. If you share our commitment to improving the quality of life for all our communities, this is a great opportunity to gain
experience of enforcement in a large, complex inner London borough.
We need people with a passion for their surrounding environment, who get frustrated by people dumping rubbish on the street, annoyed by builders who do not comply with conditions of permits, and want to make sure street trading in Portobello and Golborne markets flourishes. Training in relevant current
legislation will be provided, and this, coupled with your existing communication and people skills, will add to your effectiveness.
As enforcement is only one part of our strategy, you will need to be a creative thinker who can look at problems from all angles and see the big picture as well as the fine detail.
Ideally, you should have a mature outlook on life and be conscientious and confident when dealing with people in potentially confrontational situations. You must hold a clean driving licence and be over 25 years of age as you may be expected to drive the Council’s vehicles as part of your everyday duties. You will be provided with the Council’s uniform to wear whilst carrying out their enforcement duties, although occasionally plain clothes work is required for
specialist projects.
We are currently recruiting for several vacancies within the department’s teams, including the Street Trading, Highways Enforcement and the Cleansing Enforcement Teams.
Expect excellent staff benefits, including travel allowances and a final salary pension scheme.
To apply, visit rbkc.gov.uk/jobs (Job Ref: TE011)
Closing date: 4 July 2006.
Interview date: w/c 17 July 2006.
We are an equal opportunities employer
