NABMA VISITS SPALDING

Wednesday 05 July 2006

The NABMA Management Board recently visited Spalding for its summer meeting. South Holland District Council, the authority of our President Councillor Angela Newton, provided an excellent range of facilities and hospitality for the NABMA Management Board. Pictured above is the NABMA President with members of the Board.

A wide ranging agenda considered various policy, establishment and operational matters looking to the further development and promotion of NABMA as the voice of local authority markets. NABMA delegates also took time out to visit the local market.

The Management Board noted that arrangements are now well advanced for the exciting AGM and conference in the City of Glasgow from the 10th – 12th September 2006. Delegate places are well subscribed, a quality market place exhibition will take place and thanks to the hospitality of Glasgow City Council then the Gala Dinner will be held in the City Chambers.

The President, Councillor Angela Newton confirmed that “the agenda for NABMA for the immediate future is extremely exciting. A significant step change has taken place in the organisation in the last nine months which the Management Board has welcomed. We are delighted at the new members now on board and the expressions of interest for membership that we are now receiving. We would urge anybody involved in operating markets to consider membership of NABMA which is now the cutting edge of the policy making agenda for markets in the UK”.
