YARD SALES

Thursday 07 December 2006

Sheffield's Andy Ward has raised an issue regarding the emergence of ‘yard sales’. An article appeared in Sheffield press indicating that a local publican was organising a so called yard sale on his premises. This appears to be a new angle for car boot sales but it appears that the definition of markets is still observed by the activities of these yard sales. Members of the public are entitled to take a table and sell their goods and likewise members of the public are entitled to come along and buy. Whether the introduction of yard sales is peculiar to Sheffield, or others find them on their doorstep, is a matter of interest.

If you have come across this new concept in markets, please let us know and e-mail info@nabma.com
