Wholesale Forum to visit Covent Garden
Friday 01 December 2006
The Forum will next week make an early morning visit to Covent Garden to view first hand the facilities and operation of the market and then transact a full programme of business.
A key focus of discussions are the linkages between wholesale and retail markets; updates on recycling initiatives; operational updates from markets; meat and fish industry matters and the European perspective on food matters.
During the next 12 months NABMA will look to build up its policy framework for markets and has identified the healthy eating and food agendas as important themes to develop and promote.
NABMA President Don Davies confirmed that NABMA was looking to the Wholesale Forum to continue its excellent work of recent years. “The elected members and officers of the Forum have earned the respect of many with their proactive agenda and knowledge of the UK and European food markets. They are a key part in shaping the NABMA policy framework and taking our messages to Government and Brussels”
