NABMA Visits Covent Garden
Thursday 14 December 2006
Nabma recently visited Covent Garden for its December 2006 Wholesale Forum meeting. Pictured on the early morning visit to the market are delegates with Councillor John Ahern (Derby) and Jan Lloyd the Chief Executive of Covent Garden.
A wide ranging business meeting covered a number of operational issues and examined some of the policy frameworks NABMA is to address in the next 12 months particularly in terms of linking wholesale and retail food chains and the healthy eating agenda.
Delegates provided performance information and benchmarking data for their respective markets and debates also centred on matters emanating from the World Union of Wholesale Markets.
Forum Chairman, Councillor John Ahern expressed grateful thanks to the Covent Garden authority. “Jan Lloyd and colleagues provided a most interesting and enjoyable day for NABMA as both a learning experience and a venue for an excellent meeting. The members of the Forum are at the cutting edge of markets in the United Kingdom and Europe and the sharing of information and their experiences is invaluable. The policy agenda that we are shaping firmly places NABMA at the forefront of market activities in the UK.”
