Sheffield Markets

Wednesday 23 August 2006

Andy Ward, New Moor Market Project Manager, Sheffield Markets has asked Nabma to approach other Market Managers on the subject of shared loading bay / refuse handling facilities with retail shopping centres.

Mr. Ward writes:

The development of a new indoor market complex on The Moor in Sheffield to replace the aging Castle Market is move forward rapidly and one area of discussion we are now focusing on is setting up an agreement for a shared loading bay with other major end users such as large retail units and over 1,100 managed student flats. We can see all sorts of potential problems and conflicts with delivery times, loading/unloading space, dwell time, refuse handling and disposal, recycling and overall responsibility for health and safety.

Rather than re-invent the wheel does anyone else have a shared loading bay / refuse handling facility, say where a market lies within a shopping centre that has a written agreement in place to determine management arrangements that you are willing to share, that I could then use as a starting point for ours?
