Bradford International Market
Thursday 31 August 2006
Bradford staged its International Market over the bank holiday weekend. The event brought hundreds of thousands of people into Bradford to sample goods which had been brought from all around the world. Nabma was represented at the opening by its President, Councillor Angela Newton, The Mayor of Derby, Councillor John Ahearn, and Graham Wilson, Chief Executive. The President praised the organisation of the event and Bradford’s vision in taking on such a major challenge commenting that..” events like this demonstrate the value of markets to town centres and indicate what can be achieved when markets receive the full support of their Councils. Well done Bradford particularly for promoting a fantastic opening event on Friday evening presided over by the Lord Mayor of Bradford.
