Hours 37 hours per week, Tuesday - Saturday (some Mondays on special request of Market Management Team)

  • Good understanding of the operation of a busy urban retail market


  • Ability to use computerised systems


  • Ability to work flexible hours (shifts will vary between 6.30am to 7.00pm or evenings if attending meetings and functions on behalf of the Market Management Team)


  • You will be part of a small team based at Peterborough’s City Market under the direction of the Market Manager.

    Your duties will include assisting with the day to day operation of the Market in accordance with Regulations, Council Policies, Traders Contracts and “best value”. You will ensure all rent and other charges are collected and processed, and produce reports as required by the Market Manager on rental and footfall.

    The post involves daily contact with traders, public and colleagues to ensure a safe and efficient market operation. Practical experience of working on a market and a sound understanding of Market practices is essential.
