Nabma Visits Ulverston
Monday 05 December 2005
The Retail Forum of Nabma recently visited Ulverston and received hospitality from the South Lakeland District Council.
Nabma delegates were treated to a tour of the indoor and outdoor markets and received a presentation from Jayne Kendall the Town Centre Projects Officer.
The visit looked at the existing markets and received a virtual presentation on the proposals for a refurbishment of the market hall. Delegates also heard about the exciting regeneration initiatives for the town and the many events that the authority is arranging with a market based focus.
Nabma President, Councillor Angela Newton pictured above with Jayne Kendall paid thanks to South Lakeland for the invitation to visit and for the excellent presentation as provided.
“Nabma delegates were very impressed with the initiatives and proactive leadership that the Council is providing for its markets. We wish the South Lakeland authority every success with their ambitious regeneration programme and hopefully we will be invited back in the future to view first hand the outcomes”.
