Nabma visits Brussels

Nabma was represented at the European Association of Livestock Markets meeting in Brussels on 9th December 2005, by Councillor Don Davies of Carmarthen, Vice-Chairman of the Livestock Forum and the Officer Advisor Dennis Wardle
The meeting was held at the offices of FEFAC on the Rue de la Loi and attended by delegates from Belgium, England, France, Holland, Northern and Southern Ireland, Scotland, Spain and Portugal.
The topics for discussion ranged from Animal Welfare both in transit and at Livestock Markets, EU farming reform export subsidies, Animal By-Products, staff training at Markets, identification and tagging of sheep and the disposal of waste water from markets.
After the meeting delegates visited the Agribex exhibition, a major farming event in Belgium and were able to see first hand the quality of livestock and food products available in Belgium.
