Marketing and PR Manager 
Salary: £26,067-£28,919 
Ref: SRS/MPRM 

You will deal with both the practical and strategic aspects of our public relations, both maximising income from existing contracts and sourcing new business. As well as helping create a Sales and Marketing Strategy and sales database, you will manage the sales operations, using recognised techniques and liaising with customers to establish and meet their needs. 

You will also work with operations managers to exploit opportunities and generate income, other duties will include planning promotions, attending events and conducting market research. In addition to proven professional skills and a recognisable sales and marketing qualification, you will need excellent team, customer care and interpersonal skills and a good grasp of IT. Self motivation, confidence and entrepreneurial flair are essential. 


Market Manager (2 posts) 
Salary: £22,122-£25,320 
Ref: SRS/MM 

Highly organised and with solid retail experience, you should be a proven manager, able to deal with a large workload. Excellent performance management, customer service, communication and negotiation skills are essential. The pride you take in your achievements will help to build positive relationships with and between partners to generate innovative, practical solutions. 

You will oversee one of Manchester’s markets, offering support while ensuring that quality and business requirements are fulfilled, dealing with enquiries and disputes, creating and implementing business plans and carrying out regular QA reviews. Other responsibilities will include occupancy, security, health and safety, maintenance and environmental issues. You will also promote this and other markets, working closely with local people to maximise their involvement.

Estates Services Unit, Markets & Halls
 Markets Supervisor
 Salary £16,536 - £18,430 (pay award pending)
 
The Markets & Halls section of Exeter City Council is seeking a new Markets Supervisor to replace the current post holder who is relocating to another area of the Country. 
 
The successful applicant will have wide ranging responsibilities but will primarily be responsible for the operation of the Council’s regular and occasional markets. Duties will include liasing with market providers, stall holders, markets customers and others to ensure that markets are staged successfully and safely.
 
The successful candidate will need to be well organised, confident, a good communicator and be capable of fully contributing to the objective of achieving continued development of the Council’s Markets’ programme by improving current markets and identifying and delivering new markets.
 
Markets experience would be an obvious advantage but more important would be a willingness to become involved in all aspects of the department’s activities and the ability to work on own initiative in an organised and flexible manner.
