Our Structure
NABMA is a membership organisation and major decisions are taken at the Annual General Meeting of the organisation. In the period between annual general meetings, a Management Board undertakes responsibility for developing policy, overseeing staffing matters and providing general management of NABMA. The Management Board is made up of a number of elected Officers of NABMA, together with representatives of the various subscription bandings. Further details of the NABMA structure, and particularly additional information regarding the Annual General Meeting and the Management Board can be found in the NABMA Rules and Constitution.
NABMA operates under a service level agreement with Oswestry Town Council, under which Oswestry provides all administrative, clerical and financial services. David Preston, Town Clerk of Oswestry, is currently Manager of the service level agreement and all the staff at Oswestry Town Council contribute in some way to the effective operation of the current arrangements.
The day to day management of NABMA is undertaken by Graham Wilson, its Chief Executive, who also fulfils the role of Legal Advisor to NABMA.
Graham has been involved with NABMA for almost fifteen years and was appointed as NABMA’s first Chief Executive in April 2005.
NABMA also has the support of a number of other Officers. Krys Zasada, NABMA Policy Manager, undertakes a wide remit of policy issues and has been responsible for a major research project that will be completed in the second half of 2009. Dennis Wardle, Training and Development Officer, is responsible for the organisation of training courses by NABMA and also supports the work of the Livestock Markets.

The NABMA Forums, covering retail, livestock, wholesale and private markets play an important part in the NABMA structure and give members an opportunity to discuss in detail matters relevant to each particular area of market activity. All the Forums are supported by specialist advisors who give their time voluntarily to assist member and identify issues relevant at local and national level.
Any member of NABMA is entitled to attend any meeting arranged by the organisation. Details of dates and venues can be found in the NABMA calendar.
